Introduction Our client is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Sampler to support daily operational and quality processes by collecting representative samples from materials, products, or shipments.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring samples are collected accurately, labelled correctly, and delivered to the appropriate department for testing or analysis. The role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety procedures, and the ability to work in physically demanding environments.
Duties & Responsibilities Sampling & Collection
Collect samples from incoming and outgoing materials according to established procedures Ensure samples are representative and collected at correct intervals Follow sampling instructions and standard operating procedures Maintain sample integrity during collection and handling
Labelling & Documentation
Accurately label all collected samples Record sampling details including time, batch numbers, and location Complete required documentation and sampling logs Maintain accurate records for traceability and reporting
Handling & Transportation
Transport samples safely to designated testing or storage areas Ensure proper storage of samples where required Maintain cleanliness and organisation of sampling equipment
Compliance & Safety
Adhere to all safety and operational procedures Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times Report unsafe conditions or incidents immediately Follow quality control and compliance standards
Equipment Maintenance
Ensure sampling tools and equipment are clean and in good working condition Report faulty equipment or maintenance requirements Assist with basic cleaning and maintenance of sampling areas
Desired Experience & Qualification
Grade 12 (Matric) Previous experience in sampling or a similar operational role (advantageous) Ability to follow instructions and procedures accurately Good attention to detail Physically fit and able to work in demanding environments Willingness to work shifts, including weekends if required Basic literacy and numeracy skills
