Duties & Responsibilities As an Operations Intern, your role will be hands-on and offer a deep dive into the inner workings of our operations department. Here’s what you’ll be involved in:
1. Logistics Support:
Problem Solving: Partner with couriers, 3PL, and internal team to troubleshoot delivery delays, drive timely resolutions, and escalate complex issues as needed. Coordinate Shipments: Assist in arranging outbound shipments by liaising with our 3rd Party Logistics (3PL) provider. Inventory Management: Help maintain accurate inventory records and assist with stock count to ensure we’re always on top of our supplies. Order Tracking: Monitor the status of orders within the system and ensure fulfilment timelines are met. Customer Communication: Send proactive updates to customers regarding shipping delays and delivery issues.
2. Aftersales Support:
Track Repair Requests: Help populate new repair requests in the system and track progress through completion. Courier Arrangements: Coordinate the scheduling of couriers for the collection and delivery of repaired items. Customer Updates: Communicate with customers regarding repair statuses and updates via our system. Collaborate on Repairs: Assist the Operations Manager and Technicians to facilitate product repairs and ensure smooth aftersales service. Efficient Issue Resolution: Follow established processes to efficiently manage incidents, problems, and customer requests.
3. Customer Service Support:
Respond to Customer Inquiries: Provide timely and accurate responses to customer inquiries via email, phone, CRM system and live chat. Product Information: Assist customers with information regarding product features, availability, and order status. Troubleshoot Issues: Help address customer concerns, troubleshoot issues, and ensure customer satisfaction throughout their experience. Feedback Collection: Gather and relay customer feedback to relevant teams for continuous improvement in operations and customer service. Proactive Communication: Send out notifications to customers regarding any delays, changes to their orders, or other operational issues that may impact their experience.
4. Ad-Hoc Operations Support:
General Assistance: Provide support across different areas of the operations department, assisting with data entry and daily tasks as needed. Process Improvement: Offer suggestions for improving workflows and operational efficiency based on your observations and experiences.
Desired Experience & Qualification • Age Range: 18 to 34 years old (ideally a recent graduate) • Education: Grade 12 / Matric qualification (Mandatory), Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Operations Management (Advantageous) • Employment Status: Currently unemployed
Skills: • Excellent attention to detail and strong process orientation • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively • Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal • Must be proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) • Strong team player who works well with others and can also work independently • Customer-focused with a passion for delivering quality service
Other Minimum Requirements: • Citizenship: Must be a South African citizen • ID: Must have a certified ID • Commute: Able to travel to the office in Bryanston daily • Availability: Ready to commit to a 12-month fixed-term contract (with the possibility of becoming permanent after the end of internship) • Tech Skills: Familiarity with software tools (e.g. CRM) is a bonus, but not mandatory
Preferred Requirements:
• Pure Mathematics (Mandatory) • Driver’s License (Advantageous)
Package & Remuneration You’ll earn a monthly stipend between R8,000 to R10,000 (depending on your skills and qualifications)
